We are proud to announce that all remaining performances of "Superior Donuts" are now SOLD OUT.
Due to the intimacy of our theatre, our seating capacity is limited, so while we are happy to share our success news, we are equally disappointed that more audience members are not able to view this production. Our seasonal calendaring does not permit us to add any additional performances, so we must close this production on April 13.
You are invited to come back and see our next production, also with a local setting, that will close this season for Village Theatre Guild, "now then again," May 23 - June 14.
Thank you for your support.
Arthur, a 1960s holdover, operates a rundown donut shop in Chicago's Uptown, while Franco, a young, African-American assistant, writes his own great American novel. They build an unlikely relationship despite butting heads. Franco is eager to add healthy foods, music and a more trendy atmosphere. Arthur wants to keep everything as is. Throughout the play, Arthur reminisces in humorous and poignant ways about his city, his family and times past.
